I know you were stoked the second you realized you weren’t snagged. How were you fishing for it?

The best part was that in 2 ft shallow pond water I saw its wake before the strike. So sick. I was using a Manns super frog on 20lb braid.

20lb braid in freshwater? Ha damn, must be a gnarly lake! I’m 6-8lb test most days. Steel leader if I’m going for walleye or something with chompers.. I also like filament more than braided, easier to cut with my teeth ha. To each their own on that one though. At least with braided you barely have to worry about breaks.

Yeah most spots I fish have nasty slop or weeds and brush that the bass love to hunker down in.

Braided work alright with a bait caster? Never tried it in mine

work alright? I know people use mono and floro on baitcasters but ive yet to see one in real life without braid lol.

Do you still use a mono leader? If so, how long? I was using braid in my spinner and gave up on it for good after throwing my 3rd lure off due to what I can only guess was a treble hook knicking the braided line. Maybe this wouldn’t have the same trouble on a baitcaster?

that's strange, I use spinner reels the majority of the time, with braided line and no leaders and I rarely if ever have lures go flying off unless the line is tangled around the rod or knotted around the bail or something.

Maybe I was just using shoddy braid but it was a frustrating day.
