Just a heads up anyone who was thinking of fishing ny. As of today 4/9 they officially closed parks golf courses marinas and boat launches until 4/29. Sorry for the bad news but I guess we had to expect it.
Surprised they didn't close them sooner....stay safe.

Ya me too but I think there still stocking trout in the small cricks and lakes. Oh well I’ll stay home and hopefully when this is all over I’ll just have to fish twice as much.
I live in wallkill and in my area there’s lots small ponds, creeks and rivers that don’t have boat launches and aren’t part of a park. I either wade or use my kayak . I launch from the side of the road.

I see your not to far from me, I’m in Warwick in Orange County. I know you have the Wallkill river to fish on I have landed some really nice cats out of that river. I was just posting the information on NYS I know NJ has been closed I was waiting to go after the crappie and walleyes in greenwood lake. I guess that’s going to be a little longer now we’ll at least I listened to the misses and didn’t uncover the boat. Well anyway stay safe and healthy maybe I’ll bump into on the water when we get back out.
At our golf course we go out singles in a golf cart, 6’ seperation is great and did 18 in 3 hours

Now there’s an idea. I’ll pass that along to the wife👍
Wall mart is still open just go hang out there. No social distancing requirements or anything. You can cough on people and they can sneeze in your face from a foot away in the check out line. There’s plenty of trash, masks and steril gloves laying around the parking lot if you need some but by all means DO NOT GOT FISHING BY YOURSELF. That’s not safe at all. 🙄
I agree. In MO, fishing, launching is still allowed, even encouraged. Just keep your distance from others. Nothing is safer from contagion than fishing by yourself on a lake/river.
