Doesn’t look like we’re going to have a halibut season or any other kind of fishing for awhile 😢 I have a client with a nice boat who asked if I would be his new fishing buddy. We were going to go out for halibut and salmon and crabbing. 😢😢😢🐠🕺

Are your waters closed? Ours are not. I am at the lake now and I caught 2 really small blue cat, turned ' em loose. Just caught a 4# blue cat on a 12ft slip-cork rod baited with shad...now on the once empty stringer. I think there are 3 people fishing today and Tige boats (made here) is testing their boats out here today.

I am so jealous of the things you can get in the Sound. I am from Washington State, have lived in Tacoma, Everett, Clarkston, Asotin. Still have a lot of family there. Bro lives in Seattle.

Hello WH. I thought all texas lakes were closed. I'm old so I can be easily mistaken. My reasoning came about from a new ordinance by the city of lawton, ok. Lawton has 2 really good fishing lakes & some smaller fishing spots. It was announced that since texas lakes were now closed it was feared texas people would come up here to fish so the new ordnance passed that only lawton & commanche county residents could buy permits to fish in those waters. I'm not a resident of either place but was born in lawton. I'm here because my father was very I'll & we buried him last tuesday. My mother is basically unable to stay by herself so I'm her til we figure what to do with her . Anyway, one of the lakes is only a couple miles from here, lake Ellsworth. A great catfish lake. The state record blue cat was caught there. Both lakes are less than 50 miles from the texas border. Luckily I had a good connection & was able to secure a permit so I'll fish soon as this weather permits.
Glad you're catching not just fishing. Good luck & tight lines.

BC so sorry you lost your Father, sorry too that your Mother is not independent. My Mother came to live with me fulltime. I found a private sitter to stay with her. It is way less expensive than nursing home care. NH runs $6000-$9000 per month PLUS medications. I am a nurse by trade. You can call me if you want to ask questions. 3256653513. I know a little bit.

Thanks very much for your concern WH. We're up to our ears in medical professionals in this family. There's 5 RN's & 4 doctors at our disposal. Got another grandaughter going to OU. Claims she's going to be some kind brain surgeon. That doesn't mean that whole bunch knows something you don't. Experience is the best teacher. I know about the cost of warehousing an older person. It's absurd. Mother is 90 & getting feeble. She's fallen several times & broke an arm once. Her short term memory is way too short. My sister in Miss. wants her there but it may be a while before we can travel. It'll work out. Good luck & catch a biggen.

Many blessings in your family. That is ALOT of medical folks.
My Mama died in 2014 from complications of Alzheimer's, she forgot how to eat and had already, years earlier, decided no feeding tube. She was a fisherman as well. Wishing you and her Tightlines.

Thanks WH. My dad was in the hospital 5 days before he was sent home with hospice. I received a call from the hospital about the 3rd day from a lady who asked what were they to do if he quit breathing. I simply told her to pronounce him dead. She seemed a little shocked with my answer & I told her that he'd been hospitalized in that hospital several times in the last 3 years & there was a directive on file there. Dad was literally full of cancer & trying to save him was futile. Hospice took a urine sample the day after he was home & there was e coli bacteria in his urine. No antibiotics were given. He didn't have a chance & lasted 48 hours after the test. My brother, his wife, my mother & I were quarantined & were released yesterday. Tight lines.
