Where are the whitebass biting in ky
Bbbball270: I've never fished in KY, but I will bet if you have a boat and go up steam from any local lake, you will find them is their spawning stages. They are easy to catch once you've located a school. Small jigs, spinning lures, etc., always worked here. No matter the time of year, they are available to fishermen who can find them. In the winter, deep water off, and around, submerged points! Their favorite food is gizzard shad, so your lures should mimic those.
Good luck, welcome to the Fishing Stage, and please go back to your profile page and add where you live an fish. Just Sayin...RJS
Thanks ive caught a ton of them out of the headwaters of green river lake in central ky but we dont have many left there trying to restock the lake so im trying to find some place else to take my kids to catch some they are so much fun
Yes, I know just what you mean. When in H.S. i had two brothers who were close friends who had never fished before. I took them and we first had to seine for minnows for bait, I wasn't able to afford lures. We all caught white bass, or sand bass, until we had all we wanted to clean.
Since my parents weren't home, we took the fish, cleaned them at the brother's home, and their mother fried all these fish up. I don't think the family had ever had fish, at least fresh like that.
