Hello all. I Love to fish but have never really learned how to do it, so I guess you could say I like to drown worms.
My 11 year old son has become a lot more interested in fishing in the last year or so and I need to learn as much as I can to ensure that he maintains his interest. We fish small ponds and lakes for the most part. I know how to set up a bullhead rig, and have had some success fishing for bass with weedless frogs, crank baits and spinners. I would like to help my son learn what to look for when choosing a fishing spot and how to fish for different species of fish.

Welcome otter. There are some good fly fishermen and some good bass fishermen on this site that I am sure can give you soon good advice on what kind of structures to look for. Keep your son interested in fishing. You will enjoy it as much as him
Welcome Otter. What town / city do you live in there in central NY? We have 15 NY'ers with locations here on the stage.

Welcome to the Fourm, otter. Drowning worms is a good start. You might even slip a crawler on the hook once in a while.
