Three blade props main function is running in or close to weeds. A three blade prop will cut thru the weeds a two blade has more pulling power, it'll hold your boat in current or wind better and probably run you a little faster. Consider the type water you'll be fishing and choose the one best for your situation. I've got both and change them for the water I'll be fishing.

I run the two blade most of the time but Tim's Ford has no weeds, when I go the Guntersville I put the three blade on, a lotta eel grass and milfoil. Don't take but a minute to change them out, just watch for the pin when you pull the prop off sometime it'll fall out.

There’s also a 4 blade prop. I have 1 for my motorguide. It’s a weed less prop. Right. Enough said.

I have old classic Evinrude TROLLING motors with the 2 blade weedless. A 3 blade runs differently. I bought a classic with the three blades but to be honest the old classic 2 blade weedless type Evinrude / Johnson does really well wide open throttle too.

With the larger Outboards 2 blade brass are (speed prop) and three blade are multi purpose. Diameter and pitch.

Thanks for the info. I've got a two blade currently. Have not had issues with weeds yet. Just ran it in some strong current on the river and I wasn't sure if a three blade would give me better bite in the water.

I fish heavy current on Pickwick Lake a few times a year and I've always got that two blade on for there.
