What troll motors you guys like and reccomend for spot locking on say a brush pile and catching crappie. Try not to break the bank.

All the ones I've seen with spot lock are pretty expensive. Prolly be a while before they get much cheaper. Maybe you could find a used one you could afford.

Minnkota Terrova- bought new last year about $1500-1600. Came w/both a remote & the foot control, so have both options.

Squeak, If you fish shallow enough water 10' or under they have manual shallow water anchors that are fairly inexpensive.

No I'm talking about manual ones. you can get them for around $100. The bracket attaches to the boat and you slide a pole down into the bottom.

Look on eBay for one. Or Google search used trolling motors with spot lock. The first ones out were ok but these newer ones hold spot real tight even inThe wind. But there are plenty of used ones out there

You didn't mention the size of your boat but, you can buy a used Minn Kota Powerdrive on letgo or eBay and then buy the spot lock unit and install it yourself. Installation is very simple.
I have a Minn Kota Terrova 80lb on my boat, love it.
