I am sure you all have caught on that I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, nor the brightest bulb in the string, but I just heard that 20 of the National Parks are open. And, best of all...they are packed. They are not charging for admission, which is great, but what about the stay at home and maintain social distancing thing? How can this be a good thing for any of us? I know we all want to get some fresh air, but I feel guilty walking my dog.

It’s the easiest way to weed out the dumbest people let them go play in a park.

An 11yr old German Shorthair. She is great for pheasants and grouse.

You’re smarter than all the people going to the national parks right now👍

On the news the other night they were showing the Grand Canyon and there were like 30 people standing shoulder to shoulder looking down into the canyon!?

No, sorry. Officially Samantha, but I wanted a single syllable which would come up from the diaphragm while hunting in the wind, so we all call her Sam.
Unconditional love with that dog...and Vet bills. 😉
Easily the best dog I have ever had. Doesn’t like to fish, though. Loves boat rides, but jumps in at the worst times.

I have a Black Lab that loves to chase fish. Every now and then she will catch one and bring to me, drop it and look up with big grin as if to say here’s mine where is yours.

You got it wrong the dog loves to fish and just gets overwhelmed with excitement and wants to help his loving master get those darn fish in the boat

Maybe she just suspects I don’t know what I am doing?

Wouldn’t surprise me as I missed the first pheasant she ever pointed...the look she gave me...

Unfortunately, not many wild birds around my part any more. We have a State Rec. area about half an hour away which plants birds for most of the season, so I take her there to give her some work as she doesn’t know the difference. We tried IA a couple times while my Son went to school there, but not many opportunities, there around Des Moines.
Hoping to get her out to SD at least once before she is done, but I need to get in shape for that.

I have always loved the look your hunting buddy the dog gives you when miss a bird it’s a priceless look. I have always had English springers we used to raise birds but like them dogs I kinda got old and no longer have the drive to chase them.
