Just watched a viral hunting video show on the Outdoor Channel which showed a couple fishing clips as part of it. A guy caught a LM on a $100 bill made into a lure, then made a lure out of Legos and caught another. To top that he then drilled a couple holes in a smart phone, mounted some treble hooks on it and caught another... Stick a fork in me because I am done. šŸ˜±

Hoss: Do you feel one or the other of your legs being pulled? I saw on Facebook this dude with a compound bow claiming he had put an arrow into the center of a roll of toilet paper at 384, or 394 yards! At my best I was good enough to kill four white tail deer with a recurved bow, but I'd have to actually see this stunt to believe it. Just Sayin...RJS

RJS,
I just saw the clips and the fish being pulled in with the lures in their mouths.
They didnā€™t looked questionably edited at all.
Iā€™m with you on the crossbow deal. Not buying that one.
I will look for the name of the show or a link to the clips to share so you can see for yourself.

Never tried a cell phone, but I have caught bass on a gum wrapper, a stick, a penny, and a clothes pin. When they are schooling they will hit anything. Or at least anything I've thrown at them.

The show was Viral Outdoors on the Outdoor Channel. Similar to Funniest Home Videos, they showed some interesting things. My Son caught a fish on a lure he made out of a bottle cap, so I guess they WILL hit just about anything. The show is listed to be on again at 10:30 am Central time tomorrow so I hope it will be the same episode. Now I just have to find a link to it and figure out a way to share it.

Smoky,
My Son made me a few of the bottle cap lures while in college, I have yet to try them, but now canā€™t wait to give them a chance...

I bet you get hits on the bottle caps. I've caught a ton of bluefish on the old can/bottle openers. Of course when blues are in a school they will definitely hit anything that moves.

I saw a Fred Bear demonstration where he shot a bull's eye then next shot split first arrow. BUT at a normal range 20 to 30 ft

I did that once, but completely by accident. It is called ā€œRobin Hoodingā€ and gets really expensive as arrows are not cheap. It is bad enough to destroy an arrow nock, but with that you lose 2 arrows.

I shot four arrows into a plastic bottle with my Howard Hill longbow a while back. Range was 35 yards. I was shooting really good that day, had my form just right, couldnā€™t seem to miss. I was feeling pretty good about my shooting until I walked down to pull my arrows. Two of the four shafts were shot in half. Yep thatā€™s expensive. It happened again yesterday, this time only one shaft out of three. It broke me from shooting multiple arrows at one bottle.

Yup, I changed from a single target to pinning playing cards in different locations on whatever my backstop was. Much cheaper that way.

I do believe at 384 yards id have a little problem seeing the roll.
