I'd make the coal mines clean it all up, all the way to the ocean.

Coal mines have been in operation since the 1930s in Wyoming that I’m aware of, and probably long before, and there’s not a pollution problem from them there yet? Mining is not the pollution problem with coal. It’s the processing and careless burning of coal that produces the pollutants from it. I’m talking about open-pit mining. I’m not sure about underground. Where there’s a heavy population or careless mining practices there will be a problem. Not the mining itself. I can’t believe they’re still allowing mines there to reject stuff into the rivers. That nuts.

It’s, rather, ironic the same government figures who are down on coal mining are the very figures who support fracking. The same woman who ran for president and lost last time is, seriously down on coal mining but fills her foundation account with money from mining and is the front runner for uranium mining on public lands because its keeps her millions rippling in. 🙄

It's bad enough to put a consumption ban on the river. Then the coal mine needs to shut down and start to clean up. I don't care how much it'll cost the company. They should have thought of that before they started to pollute.
Sorry about that. It just burns my a!s.

Sounds like the creeks where I grew up in northern Indiana. That's where I learned to love fishin. He's probably ready for a lot more now. Nice.

Funny. What the government is doing is relaxing the regulations to allow MORE dumping of mining waste in rivers and streams. It's part of their effort to revive the coal business.

Not that way in Wyoming and Montana yet. Thank God. They’re more strict than ever there now.
