Forgive me if I told this one before, but in perhaps 1975 or so, my folks leased a farm and part of a marsh for duck / goose hunting South of Horicon Marsh. We had a perfect North wind which would persuade the geese to leave the marsh in our direction. We set up our hunting party in a line along the fence on the North side of decoys so they would fly over the top, swing and land into the wind to present the best shooting. My Dad , then me, followed by my Mom, then Uncle Bob and one of my Cousins all spaced about 30yds from one another. As we waited in the dark, the silence was broken by a blood curdling “Owwwooooo....s#it....Son of of a...WOW!. I then heard my Dad laugh a bit and then he offered “I believe your Uncle just learned the lesson about peeing on an electric fence”

Damn ! With friends like that, who needs enemies ? There's better ways to educate your friends,
but I guess lessons like this are immediately taken to heart !
(If they don't trigger a heart
attack first !)

I am attempting to quote Will Rogers in his definition of Learning in the School of Experience.

According to Will there are several classes to this school:

1. Some learn by classes and reading books and watching You Tube

2. Some learn by asking experts questions, listening and taking notes.

3. Then finally, there are those who have to piss on the electric fence!

Just Sayin...RJS

Reminds me of my Grandpa. My dad told me about his father. James A Hanson in St James Minnesota had a Model A ignition coil.

Grandpa got tired of catching smelling and seeing a stray dog piss on his Desoto ( I think..not sure exact car) wheel and tire.

He wired the coil live ( closed circuit ) to the secondary side ( high voltage )to the frame of car.

One nice summer evening they heard a big yelp and whine from the driveway saw the Mutt run off and never returned.

JUST SHOCKING...

Jeremy: My grandfather had a paper route (in the Redondo Beach area). In the wee hours of the morning, he delivered newspapers from his Model T. One part of his route had a very cantankerous dog, which would run alongside, barking, and biting at the tyres on his ancient rig. After many complaints from the paper reading public (and the local constabulary) he figgered out a way to rid himself of this canine nuisance. He unscrewed the bearing cap from the front wheel, put the corner of a burlap bag under the cap and screwed it back down. That morning when the dog came after him, the flapping burlap caught that dog and flipped it around quite a few times before the dog was thrown clear. Never saw that dog again. But that wasn't the story I was gonna tell you about. I forgot what I was writing about. Must get coffee.

We had a little mutt that loved to chase cars, dad decided to cure him one day he drove by the house and here came mutt, dad started pouring some bopeep ammonia on the road when the dog hit it he busted off across the meadow just a howling, never chased a car again, but he kinda got even that evening there was a mouse in front closet so dad siced the dog on it and the dog puked in the closet us boys laughed our butts off. Dad didn't see the humor lol
