Hit a submerged tree branch with my trolling motor and cracked the welds on the bow plate were the motor mounts.
Can these welds be rewelded? I've called around but I guess everyone is closed due to the virus.
Hope everyone is doing ok.

Yes. Any GOOD metal shop can aluminum weld. Make sure it's a good shop and knows what they're doin. Good luck and get back out there. Tight lines.

TIG welder can weld it with Argon gas. DC Reverse Polarity Stick can weld it.
MIG with Argon and Aluminum wire can also weld it. Removing the flammable materials and replacing them near the weld will be more work than removing the anodized surface and the welding.

I would use boat or repair trolling set up and not worry about it until you can get it done. The crack may grow a little but will take a lot of vibration to get longer in short order. Hopefully nobody got hurt or has whiplash.

See most people never heard of it🤠

I been frustrated with them for sure. I think there is some Tattling going on usually. The weird part is sometimes I see stuff go on and on and never get removed but another next to nothing gets mentioned and it’s off to the outhouse...attic...basement etc.

Easy job. Look around for a traveling welder or welding shop. I got a all in one down the road.

Hey HAPPY, like Jeremy said he's spot on with the fix but it doesn't look that bad. Aluminum is perty strong I would use it until ya get a chance to fix it. Seal it up with duct tape and don't go faster than 100 mph or you lose the duct tape warranty.lol and then in the attic you go. 🤣😂☝️

We store duct tape in the attic to keep it flexible in winter and spring🤠

NO WAY??? They upgraded Duct Tape. I seen that guy on TV cut a boat in half put it together with flex seal and went skipping across the lake.??? But it didn't show him putting the boat in the trailer. 200 mph. ??? Crazy lol

The best place is where they sell and service irrigation circles those boys know how to weld aluminium. And if you talk directly to the man doing the welding sometimes he will do it for cheap as in free. Just make sure its clean.
