The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife just closed all fishing in the state until April 8th. Here’s the link.
https://wdfw.wa.gov/news/wdfw-closes-recreational-fishing-statewide-wake-governors-order-stay-home-stay-healthyI saw a small public trout pond crowded with people fishing when I went out to pattern my new Turkey gun on Sunday. I guess I was right when I told my wife that those are the morons that are going to get angling closed down😖.
I did catch a Steelhead today, but I don’t have to leave my yard. (Picture attached)
I guess it’ll be my last fishing excursion for a while, even though I can go stand in that same spot and watch the water go by without another soul within 1/4 mile of me. Soooo stupid!
Unfortunately we all pay the price because a few idiots are unwilling to manage themselves to the level required. I’m unhappy, but I am a rule follower, so I will comply and trust that these temporary measures will ultimately save some lives!
I ask for God’s blessing on all of you that he keeps you and your loved ones healthy, safe and comforted in these difficult times.

Hopefully things work out for a of us. Nice fish. Thanks for sharing.
That would be pretty nice to be able to walk out the house door and fish. Thank for the picture. Stay safe up there.
Back here on the east coast - Long Beach Island NJ has closed it’s beaches (26 miles of coast line) don’t know about the rest of the state. IT’S EARLY SPRING - beaches are cold - might be a striper fisherman every 20 yards - totally safe outdoor activity.
Meanwhile, Pa is stocking and promoting opening day of trout season on April 18th - what a contrast
I was just reading the Oregon State Police statement. Oregon is open. I saw fisherman’s Marine Was open according to google but I still have constant headache. Had an offer to get on a boat for Salmon tomorrow but probably not going because still sick.....not my normal kind of sick but don’t feel good kinda sick.

Man that is an awfully thin Steelhead, Summer runs in there already? Thanks for the picture. I am envious.

Kerry,
Yes, spawned out and a little rough around the edges from digging her redd. She was hatchery raised but I released her anyway. I don’t find winter Steelies to be much for table fare.
Since it’s closing at midnight I decided to go out and fish until dark. I found the one pictured down stream in one of my go-to holes that I haven’t fished for a while.....first cast, as it often times goes with steelhead.
Same story, spawned out hatchery hen. She was in better shape, but she also went back to hopefully return again next year.

Thank you. I guess our only option is to hunker down and focus on yard work and gardening.....I doubt that it will kill me, I’d rather do that than be dying in the hospital from this virus.
Stay away from other people and give the medical folks a chance to get a vaccine developed.
Best wishes to you and those you love.

I believe that the trout opener here in Washington is on April 25th. This temporary closure is until April 8th. Hopefully we’ll be past the worst part of this and back in the game by then.
Interesting thing is that they did not close any hunting, although there isn’t much going on other than Spring Bear.

I hope your headaches pass soon so you can get back to fishing when this all blows through....and it will.

Pa already moved it's early trout opener back 2 weeks. I have a bad feeling the April 18th opener is gonna be moved back too.

You go get on that boat. Nothing but fresh air and fishing will take care of that headache and your not feeling right. Hope you catch a world record. And smile while you're enjoying it. Maybe even laugh.
