Sounds good to me. As the saying goes: "All of us are smarter than some of us." I don't know it all, and never will, so I appreciate hearing from those who've "been there, done that". Welcome aboard!

I'm located in Illinois the northern part. My friend babobby is located in Texas the southern part. My fishing in years past has been in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Fishing where O live now is limited to smallmouth bass and carp from the rivers and streams.

Welcome bahmer, I saw your name a few times on the other site. Much happier place here with just an occasional uprising that will end up in the Attic. Admin here doing superb job on keeping us in line. Yea a slip now and then happens but then they are directed to the OPP.
So please chime in anytime and even will enjoy some old pics with the olden days advice.

Trout or ocean?
Freshwater trout. I have tried saltwater fly fishing but that is a lot of work unless you have some type of watercraft. The intercoastal waterway is mostly mud and very hard to wade in, in most places. I haven't caught any specs on the fly but I have caught quite a few puppy drums on the fly, but no keepers. We usually Winter down on the Gulf.
