For all those wondering, this is part of a Texas Parks and Wildlife program to release stocked trout in neighborhood ponds for people to catch and keep before summer (they get too hot and die).

The water is just way too hot the rest of the year, and there are no suitable streams in my part of the state.

The only 'true' year-round trout fishery in Texas is a stretch of
the Guadalupe River from the
dam at Canyon Lake to just
above New Braunfels ! Part of
it is considered to be a trophy-
trout fishery with a catch-and-release and/or one-fish limit
(18 in. minimum) ! There are
also some big largemouths, smallies, Guadalupe bass and stripers to be had ! Check state regulations for more
information !

They stock many ponds in Tx . Simply google trout stocking near me . I found Berkeley dough bait catches the bigger ones . I fish with a little bitty treble hook with a split weight and pencil float Which are only about 8 or 9 inches . Remember 5 a day is the limit . Where they stock them , our fellow game wardens visit , so be legal and have fun .
