There are a lot of times I love a good prop bait, like the Tiny torpedo. Also love having a jointed minnow.

I most enjoy my crankbaits. If I had to pick one, I would pick a perch design. Pike and bigger perch will go for it.

White soft plastic shad. Bass attack them as well as crappie and big bluegill
What do the shad look like? How do you put the hook in them? Just a beginner.
Shad have a paddle tail. Go to walmart and find the shad lures in white, they're $ 1.22 a pk of 2 .. Ice been catching plenty of bass on them. Cast out and wind steady, not too fast.
I’ll echo what others have said but the first thing to consider is what species you’re pursuing. For freshwater: I would say jigs in assorted sizes, shapes, and colors my favorite color is green/chartreuse. Also no tackle box is complete w/o a selection of crankbaits you can’t go wrong with Rapala’s. With jigs and cranks’ size and color have everything to do with weather, species, and water clarity.
