Weather is about to change and my dreams convinced me to go back. Found the big boy again. Fooled him into biting again! Then preceded to get schooled in the way of large steelhead. Doubt he’ll be around for round 3😥. Did manage to find a couple different ones to battle with. Seems to be a rather “large fish” season. I’ve had to adjust my gear a little. Slightly bigger nymphs than normal due to needing stronger tippet. Hardly see people use trout tactics for winter steelhead, but it can work great. Only a month more of steelhead season to go. Don’t forget to get out🎣

It only lasts for a few months. Then on to the next species. But these steelhead are lots of fun. I’ve got a few buddies who say that the only thing comparable is tarpon and bone fish. I’ve caught bones and most native steelhead fight better than the bone. Never caught a tarpon. Guess I need to add it to the bucket list
