I’m yalls experience, what are the best colors for prespawn pond fishing?

First and foremost color should be dictated by water clarity...
Normal pond (algae & dingy) = junebug or black
Crystal clear pond = green pumpkin
The prespawn part doesn't fit into the equation in ponds. Lure selection & location, yes, color no.

I caught a fish on a chatter today in some murky but not totally clouded. I haven’t had great consistency with anything. He’s was working really well last month but now nothing. So I figured maybe a color issue.

How much pressure would you say the pond has? And by "working really well" last month... how many fish on how many days? ...sometimes we let our own bias convince us of things.
I'd vary retrieve speed and trailer size if you wanted to, but more likely the fish are on a different pattern/location!

I’d say well for me but still pretty bad. I don’t have anywhere to go that isn’t super pressured. In the year that I’ve been fishing pretty regularly I’d say I’ve probably caught maybe 40 fish. Maybe like 7 in Jan-feb. I try every lure and color I have and have come to the conclusion that I’m doing something wrong.

Water clarity matters yes but also the bait fish. If there is a shad spawn then throw shad patterns. I fish many ponds and get rocked on bluegil colors. Just gotta find what works. I usually fish pretty clear water.

I fish ponds and small lakes in East Texas for bass a lot and like chartreuse with white spinnerbaits, 4" purple with red fire tail worms, in the spring I like the watermelon green lizards and frog pattern Zara puppies. Bass pattern zoom flukes in 4" work well too.
I'm in MS and where I fish I started years back with rooster tails in green on back over orange. Then a couple of years back changed to a shad lure in white and have used it ever since. For back up now I have another shad lure, grey on the back, white belly and red throat. They both work well.
