That’s one thing I haven’t really thought about getting back in the boat!! I have a aluminum 16 with a flat walk around floor about 3” below the gunnel walls and I take my grandkids fishing a lot. I can say for sure I will have one on the boat this spring. Thanks for the idea

Most boat dealerships can mount one on your transom. The ladder that hangs on the side of the boat takes up room in your boat and is of no use if your alone. You cant reach it if your in the water.

Had the same concern with mine since I have about 30+" freeboard.. Sets right at the waterline at rest.. Close enough that the cavitation plate gives a help up.

I would be looking to mount it to the transom of my aluminum v bottom.I think I can mount it through the metal and put a board on the inside to hold it in place. my main concern is the grandkids walking off the deck while fishing. I looked on amazon I don’t need a long one, just enough for them to climb back aboard. there’s some nice fold up ones that stay attached to the boat but folded out of the way.

I love mine and is quite a simple design. Was installed by the manufacture. It folds up while you are underway and than releases down quite easily.

Bdubya06, nice and simple. Like the looks of the motor bracket. I see your kicker isn't in line with the main motor. Is it a tiller model or do you have remote steer for it. If so, what make and do you like it. I currently have a tie bar to my main and am about ready to get rid of it. I'm looking at remote options.

Yes kicker is remote steer (Panther). It's a Mercury pro- kicker 9.9 four stroke. Purrs!

Yes I like it. It works great when the wind is not blowing. Once the wind comes up it's easy to disconnect and use as a tiller. Or you can lock it straight in line and just steer with big motor.

Most any marine tackle shop such as West Maine carries boat ladders or swim platform ladders.

Got this from Amazon, just put on a week ago really nice product. Mostly put it on for playing in the lake this summer.
