OK, since I am fairly new here, please tell me who posts from FS Digest come from?

It seems very inappropriate on a site where members seem to demand where every one is from!

Are you mad!? If you are? Don't spread it around. I don't think people demand anything. People would like to know about you and where you are from, not to upset you because they want to help you. And a lot of us are looking for someone to fish with, share thoughts, places you fish and secrets you hold.

Who said I was upset or mad...just trying to determine where indeterminate posts are coming from! Where do posts from FS Digest come from. Please consider answering the question instead of some other response which is not related to the question at hand.

I think if someone doesn't fill out there location profile the site defaults to FS Digest or Fishing Stage Digest.
What's inappropriate? No one asking for your address! If your uncomfortable don't do it.
Pretty simple!

I made it pretty easy to know where I am from. The thing is a lot of questions are really hard to answer unless we have some sort of idea where you are. The techniques for bass fishing are very different from those best used for catfishing, trout fishing, walleye fishing, crappie fishing, perch fishing...ETC. If you live in the North even in the same species the fishing methods are often very different from what works well on or near the Gulf Coast. It doesn't matter where you live if you want to know about certain rods and reels or how to cast but for the best results if you want fishing information you will be best searved to let us know where you willl be fishing. Most people have their location in their profile. If they don't then you can decide whether their advice is applicable to you based off their responses. If you are too afraid to tell me what state or region of the world that you live in then I mostly feel sorry for you. Stop living in fear. Life is to short to be spent hiding.

I thinking any one is demanding anything, it's easier to give good information if we know where you're from.

If you want other members to share information with you, then it shouldn't be big deal to share a little info with the site.

Nobody wants directions to any ones doorstep, just a general area they are.lot’s of folks on FS that are willing to help, and some that goes completely out of their way to help by keeping record of what areas people fishes and will direct question to the proper persons in that area. So people can P.M. the person in the area. If someone puts any personal information on the stage just watch how fast they are directed not to do so and to use the p.m. so personal information can not be viewed by all.

Good question. I’m thinking the same thing, but members are asking for information about where people are from to try to give good advice based on regional knowledge and experience. Fishingstage.com is not demanding location.

Hey folks as one along with Flyguy who tries to build a spread sheet we are only asking for the location so that info can be sent to those in need of wanting fishing information in areas that someone is venturing to.

Many of you have asked by way of Pm and on the stage to myself and Fly for intel on certain areas. We try to the best of our knowledge and if a user does not want us to know their location, its no big deal. As of now just one user made it clear on the stage that he does not want his info shared. Others just do not respond.

2nd reason it is easier to visualize where someone is talking about and they just might be near to hook up with.

As for M H's question I am not 100% sure but it seems the digest questions come from folks that do not want to register and only looking for an answer to their concern. Us registered users read and respond sometimes with out a response in return from them. Reason is probably they got their answer and they are gone until the next thought crosses their mind.

So no one has really answered the question. There are posts from many users that do not show a location but show the user name instead of FS Digest. I wonder if the site has moderators who can answer the question.

Yep, go to the top of the page and work your way to Admin. You know, the guys that send us to the Attic.

I don’t think this is true. When I am logged out, I can’t see a link to create a post. That is what prompted the question in the first place.

Well that debunks that theory, thus why I said not 100% sure. So if you really want the answer ask the Admin folks. No harm in asking.

I have noticed that there is usually a user name at the end of those posts. Why that happens like that is a mystery to me too.
