It has been raining in Ga all week long. Clark Hill looks like a giant mud hole. Is it true that (as a general rule) the more stained the water, the darker the lure should be.

That's what most of the pros I heard talk about it say.

Dark and noise... That's what I have heard for muddy/clowdy water.

I live around a lot of dark waters and stained waters. Most of my Arsenal is blue/black and same with my soft plastics. A lot of things that make sound help out tremendously.

The fish have a better chance seeing a dark lure above them when the water is murky. They have the sun shine down on the water surface causing a silhouette of the lure again at the surface.

Yes, it is true. With darker water, even at night, the fish is generally on or near the bottom and looking up, The light coming from the sun or moon provides a silhouette of the lure against the surface.

That doesn't explain why bass hit a black and blue jig draggin along the bottom. No silhouette while draggin the bottom.

Fishing darker lures in muddy water has always worked better for me. An exception is red headed yellow lures also produce.

There are exceptions to just about everything, of course.
