I'm 69 years old ,live in Maine but fish in Buzzards Bay and Narragansett Bay in Mass. My boat is a Starcraft Islander 20' with a Chevy 4cyl 120HP mercruiser. It's very cheap to run/ maintain and takes chop, big swells and whitecaps like a duck ,better than most boats and is fast enough. I worked at Fairhaven shipyard/ marina for almost 20 years and lived in lafayette, La. for 12 years Managed Lafayette Shooters an fished the Gulf of Mexico and marshes for redfish, specs, snappers, pompano, king mackeral, ling whatever ! I eat what I catch if it's legal size and not over my bag limit:)

Welcome to the Forum, waine. You sound like a peach of a fellow. Would you please put the city and state where you live in your profile page on top of this page. That way we will know where you live and where to the money.

Welcome to the stage, Maine. I have visited Maine but just briefly. Winters would be too cold for me. I hope you enjoy the post here.
Welcome to the forum and if you catch a few extra Maine lobsters sometime, please send them over
Hoss: You probably left the best fishing area in the USA when you left Louisiana, both fresh and salt water.
I have no way of comparison since I've never even been to Maine....OOOooooops, sorry, I re-read your post and see that you fish in Mass.
I've been to Boston once. I was in the sales training dept. of my company in New York, and since I was from the South, they would only allow me to go to Northern cities for meetings. After our meeting, the group decided to treat me to a seafood dinner at the Boston harbor. Being Boston and famous for lobster, that is what I ordered. The waitress came back with the news "We are out of lobster!" It was amusing, since in the Air Force Officers Club in Cheyenne WO, I could get lobster any time! Just sayin...RJS

Welcome Maine, you live in a beautiful state. We hope to visit again someday
Welcome Maine from Alabama Bill
Welcome Maine. From your introduction I'd say you'll fit right in with this bunch. Never been to your neck of the woods but I've heard it's beautiful. Jump in & give us some stories. Just remember, no fisherman on this forum tells lies. Only the truth as you see it. Good luck & tight lines.
