Last Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. an aide to Nancy Pelosi visited the Bishop of the Catholic Cathedral in D.C. He told the Cardinal that Nancy Pelosi would be attending the next day's Mass, and asked if the Cardinal would kindly point out Pelosi to the congregation and say a few words that would include calling Pelosi a saint.

The Cardinal replied, "No. I don't really like the woman, and there are issues of conflict with the Catholic Church over some of Pelosi's views." Pelosi's aide then said, "Look, I'll write a check here and now for a donation of $100,000 to you if you'll just tell the congregation you see Pelosi as a saint.”

The Cardinal thought about it and said, "Well, the Church can use the money, so I'll work your request into tomorrow's sermon." As Pelosi's aide promised, Nancy Pelosi appeared for the Sunday worship and seated herself prominently at the forward left side of the center aisle. As promised, at the start of his sermon, the Cardinal pointed out that Ms. Pelosi was present.

The Cardinal went on to explain to the congregation, "While Ms. Pelosi's presence is probably an honor to some, the woman is not numbered among my personal favorite personages. Some of her most egregious views are contrary to tenets of the Church, and she tends to flip-flop on many other issues. Nancy Pelosi is a petty, self-absorbed hypocrite, a thumb sucker, and a nit-wit. Nancy Pelosi is also a serial liar, a c***t, and a thief. I must say, Nancy Pelosi is the worst example of a Catholic I have ever personally witnessed. She married for money and is using her wealth to lie to the American people. She also has a reputation for shirking her Representative obligations both in Washington and in California.

The woman is simply not to be trusted.”

The Cardinal concluded. “But, when compared with Hillary Clinton, Ms. Pelosi is a saint."

Hoss: While I agree with the Cardinal, let's not go there. This year is going to reek with political diatribe and viciousness that I would rather avoid. Just sayin... RJS

You should not assume that just because we all agree that fishing is a wonderful thing that we see things from the same political point of view. Which is why this is not the place for you to voice your opinions of such matters. We do not come here to hear how you feel about the speaker of the House of Representatives or the former First Lady. Do you think they like to fly fish, or do they enjoy conventional? You know, you could switch the former President G.W. Bush and the present President into that story and lots of folks on here probably wouldn't find that offensive? I'm not one of em. Please keep your political views to yourself. Thank you. I've said enough. If you don't agree, please feel free to add me to your ignore list.

Spirit, Doug did put it in the attic and that should be a warning already not to view it seeing that the majority of the subjects are about politics in there.

That is the place one can voice their views on controversial subjects as per the forums rules.

I consider myself apolitical! I have no affiliation with either party as I believe both are equally responsible for the mess that I perceive our nation to be in. We are "governed" by whose money speaks the loudest at any particular time. The humans who occupy public office answer to the interests of those who pay their way into power. Honesty, integrity, morality and the common good have been sacrificed on the altar of MAMMON! I have not missed a v**e since I turned 21. I believe in the principals this nation was founded on. I do not believe it is a political statement to decry the actions of someone in office who disrespects theOFFICE of ANY current incumbent. We are entering a season where the mudslinging will get worse and worse. The unfortunate result of this is that the solutions we as a nation need in order to endure as a nation will again be swept aside in order to ensure politicians ascendency or continued residency. So that said I applaud anyone who calls attention to the misuse of ANY office in order to promote a personal agenda which results in the lessening of freedom. I love this nation NOT this nations government!

OK. You are absolutely correct and I apologize to Doug. I need to pay more attention. And I was not "offended" Doug. My point is that for as many people on here that agree with your point of view, I'm sure there are probably just as many that don't. I'll shut up now.

Something I heard a long long time ago seems appropriate, " I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it!"
