Welcome to the Forum, Splash, a good question, try it and see. You should be able to catch something.
Yes stripers will bite on shrimp in brackish water. And I've had them bite on it in fresh water. Depth I wouldnt be able to tell you bc the fish can be at any level of course it depends on factors.

All the freshwater stripers I've caught were on lures that imitate shad.
On the reservoir side of the Susquehanna River. I've been able to land them on different types of things. But ive always been lucky like that.
Are fishing on a lake or on the river? I've caught them on shrimp in the river and fished for them just like catfish - on the bottom with a Carolina rig. Just find a hole, that's where they hold.

Hi, I have a question maybe you can shed some light on. I have two Livingston Walking Boss II lures.
They both have EBS chips in them, both play live recordings of shad in the water. You confirmed my thought.
That the shad would work in fresh water. Do you think I'd be wasting my time seeing if the yellow perch caught
Anything Bayside in saltwater.

I have caught them in a freshwater lake like catfish with frozen cut bait like sardines.
I have caught a lot of strippers here in Kentucky fishing on bottom when they are on spring spawning run. Very simple rig. Large jig hook baited with chicken liver. Creeks off Barren river lake. Average about 6 lbs each
