Mono color question

So I was about to buy a bulk spool of mono, and was going back and forth between low vis green and clear. I have used both with success and kind of prefer low vis green, but I always noticed how clear line gets noticeably dirty quick. Do any of you feel that that factor particularly affects anything?

I prefer clear in low light conditions, low-vis green in bright light. In clear water and sun I have seen clear line "flash" and spook fish. The exception is ultralight line; 6# and lighter. Then I use all clear. All of my bigger spinning reels have two spools; one with clear line and one with low-vis green.

Thanks for the input! I pretty much use green all around on mono, except when I use 4lb. 4lb test I've always liked clear.

Low viz green almost always, except when I'm fishing silty water or river smallmouth and I need to see that line jump - fluorescent green/yellow for that!! :)

Hi vis chartreuse is what I use on my heavy duty conventional rods.

Either clear or high vis, with a clear leader.

It depends on what kind of fish you are fishing for. Some fish aren't picky. Catfish, for example. Trout are very picky however.

No . If a fish sees your line , so what ! They don't know what line is and don't care where you bought it or how much it costs. It might even help them find the lure . Use line that YOU can see . That's what's important !
