There was a wild boar that attacked home owner in Montgomery county tx. Need to goggle it, home owner wins. But on a sad note there was hospice home nurse going to relieve another nurse (24hrcare) when she was attacked and killed by a boar when she got out of her car.I believe that was in Chambers county. Both within 20 to 40 miles from us.

Out cat fishing in the rice field irrigation canals about 20 years ago and I heard a mama and here babies rustling and squealing in the brush. Went and bought me a Ruger .40cal and now when I go, it goes.

I don't mind paying to play, but most places I've found you can only get one 🐖.pay the same for a second. Must not be as bad of a problem as it sounds.,?????

Depends on where you're at. Here in California they're not nearly the problem that they are in parts of Texas. You need a license to hunt them here and there's probably a bag limit. But they are out there. Plenty of food for them here in the valley.

In the southeastern states they are bad and here in texas they are considered pest. They tear up parks, golf courses etc. Most of them are nocturnal and you never see them. I have some friends who trap them. Hogs are smarter than most people think

Just Googled the Texas laws regarding killing wild hogs. This reads, " No license, season, limit for land owners or their agents to kill wild hogs that are causing depredation on their property," or words to that effect. Which means hunters need to find a land owner who wants to eradicate predator hogs. Most of what I've seen advertised are guided, or semi-guided hunts. This means paying a few $100 to get a two day (and night) hunt on a Texas ranch. Usually, for a fee the guide will also butcher the animal suitable for carrying home in a cooler(s).

I know one absentee S. Texas ranch owner who hires a helicopter and with an AR 15 type weapon, slaughters as many as he can in a day from the air and just leave them for the coyotes. I've dropped several hints that I am a "better than average" shot, if he needed backup, without any effect, yet!

If you know a land owner (or willing to work your network) and are willing to do all the work yourself, then go for it. Usually, the hunters I know set up blinds, put out some corn feeders, etc. and probably have signed a hunting lease so they can also kill deer, quail, and turkey in season. This over the past decades has become a big business in this state.

Since I have more relatives, classmates, and friends with land in North Texas, I have connections there but at my age and state of mobility, it isn't easily accomplished even though I could haul any hogs to a local butcher plant for processing. Due to past thefts, my only serviceable weapons are an M-1 Garand and a S&W .357 Mag pistol. The problem is most of the hog predation is at night and a night scope is almost mandatory. If the best hunting time were in daylight I would have already killed a few. Just sayin...RJS

My cuz goes on 40,000 acre ranch I am supposed to go sometime. It’s a winter thing. Maybe longer nights.. they go get them. It’s just like jackrabbits to them. I grew up doing jackrabbits because farmers wanted them gone. I want to go do it with cuz in N Cal. They are Nuisance for his buddies ranch.

Oregon is Open Carry. No concealed licenses needed unless you conceal. Many conceal with No License here. An Armed Society is a Polite Society.

Not sure, but I think in California if you are on private property you can kill at will. They are, after all, a nuisance if not downright destructive. That and they will eat you if they can.

. Your just not checking the right places, there are places in NC where the feral pigs are so bad the land owners are more than happy to let you kill all you can. Those pigs can ruin your land in a hurry and they breed like rats.
