I have a Morris reel and it is really good. Has always cast smooth with good distance. Fenwick has always had good rods but I have not owned one.

I get catalogue from Bass Pro and Cabela’s about every three weeks with promotions. Their websites have current sales and their own equipment is often promoted.

I like high quality gear. I know if I get anything at Cabelas it’s expensive so if they have a deal ... it’s probably closer to a fair price. I bought scope covers ( automatic type ). They are well over 100 the guy at counter said they do price match. I had the 30 less price advertised on my phone. Cashier said it can not be anywhere you get it online. What a joke. I go there when I have to but Bi-Mart gets more of my $

Another Chinese knock off ! However I would say the Fenwick rods have decent tapers ! Lee’s seems to have better product but may be costly !
I use Daiwa pretty much exclusively so I’m no expert on BP , I know one thing my local tackle shops are cheaper !!!

I have an old Fenwick 8 weight Fiberglas Fly rod. Action is so slow that you can eat a whole sandwich between the back cast and fore cast, but it's the best rod for throwing clouser minnows at stripers that I ever had.

The Johnny Morris Reels are very good. Yes they are made in China like most other brands. They are top quality, and if you have an issue with them you just walk back into your local stor3 with your receipt and you
L be taken care of. I have plenty of Diawa, Shimano, quantum, etc. my BPS reels out cast most of them and literally out last ALL of them. The reason I bought some BPS reels in the first place was ad a “short term use” waiting for a few of my Diawas to get back from the shop. I’ve got some Johnny Morris reels going strong after 17 years.

Is it the Johnny Morris Carbonlite, signature ll, or the Platinum reel?
The Fenwick HMG is a limited lifetime warranty rod, great value for the price

Most of the upper end Bass Pro reels are being made by Daiwa ever since Bass Pro bought Cabelas

I have a 7ft Fenwick Eagle rod. I use it mostly for walleye fishing, has served me well. I don’t have any experience with the reels.
