Puerto Rico recently passed a new law to prevent storage of Coal Ash, a highly toxic residue of coal fueled power plants containing poisons like arsenic, selenium, chromium 6 and other poisons on their Island. So guess where it's going. If you guessed Florida You'd Be Right. That's right folks our new EPA regulations or, lack there of, is allowing the import of these deadly coal ash left overs to be shipped right to the US and stored??? piled up. This is the same type coal ash that back in 2008 almost smothered the city of Kingston Tennessee. The product carrying all these poisons broke into a small river in northern TN. and poisoned fish, wildlife and people. Now because of our NEW policies on CLEAN COAL our nation is allowing third world nations to use our country as a dumping ground.

Right now there are badges full of this toxic material headed for a landfill in Jacksonville Florida from, you guessed it, Puerto Rico. This allowed by the, main man in charge, in his fight to end the war on quote,
"Beautiful Clean Coal". Former EPA heads are screaming their heads off about this but wasting their breath. They got fired and replaced by corporate friendly monsters who are allowing the poisoning of our country, people and natural resources.

No amount of money will help the people of Kingston TN who have seen highly increased cases of Addison disease, Arthritis, Gout, Asthma, respiratory diseases, enlarged Prostate, Cancers and any number other sicknesses but now we are IMPORTING the stuff.

You can call me a bleeding heart but I h**e seeing our beautiful country and our natural resources polluted by industries who's only concern is the almighty dollar.

In their defense, AES Corp., the company making the money and bringing this filth to our shores Put out a statement.
"We Comply with all local and federal regulations, put in place by our new administration, and the EPA now classifies coal ash as a Non-hazardous material." Hope that reassures all you folks in the great state of Florida that this "clean coal" byproduct won't poison your family, friends and pets and it won't contaminate your water and fisheries.
Me I'm not convinced and when they head to Tennessee with this stuff I'll be waiting with my resources to fight tooth an nail to stop their dumping.

The only answer I've got for this is to get the guy in office now allowing this out and put someone in charge who will take time from the golf course and care about our environment.

The degradation of environmental regulation is reason enough to deny a second term for the present administration. The Pebble Mine Project in Alaska is apparently moving forward (horrible future for Bristol Bay, if successful), & we're still fighting the good fight, here in Oregon, on a proposed LNG pipeline that would cross 352 WATERWAYS !! on its 212 mile path from Malin to Coos Bay, by a Canadian company, Pembina, that has a lousy track-record of safety, wants to dredge MILLIONS OF CUBIC YARDS in Coos Bay to allow huge tankers to take OUR Oregonion gas to Asia.... while we (Oregon OR the U.S. !) don't get ANY !!
Just two of the abhorrent cases of backsliding the present administration has allowed. Anyone who gives a hoot and a holler for the planet and the next generation, is in complete "Fox News" denial, to think that the planet can survive ANOTHER four years of these illogical steps.
No, DJT, you and your cadre are a LONG WAYS from the "brightest minds" available.... more like "the most short-sighted, self-serving, greedy" minds...and absolutely no conscientiousness of consequences.

V**E YOUR CONVICTIONS,...NOT YOUR POCKETBOOK OR AFFILIATED PARTY, your progeny's future depends on it....and I have seen how y'all care about and for your grandkids.... don't let them wonder for decades in the future...."what kind of "loyalty" is it, to allow the world to go to hell in a handbasket, just to improve your 401K ???

Brother you said it right! Keep up the good fight. Maybe when the planet is choking us to death people will wake up and see exactly what is staring them directly in the face. Actions like these make no sense to anyone except the people who will profit from them and their followers. Crying shame

I don't believe we should Deny Trump a second term as we need a president other countries respect which I don't believe many dems would have, and don't get me started on the economy, But something needs done perhaps put in a petition to ban Coal Ash, But I do not believe that something as drastic as the new green deal, as most people I know wouldn't be able to afford an electric car by 2030 Myself included. Not to mention the fact that there are not electric tractors or ATVs/UTVs, Plus as far as I know there are not electric trucks that can haul anywhere near as much as gas/diesel trucks. all of which are necessary for farmers Such as myself who mostly depend on farming to keep food onthe table. Maybe even make a filter to put in exhaust pipes instead of banning gas/diesel vehicles. But I digress. Yes Something needs done but, not the banning of All Vehicles except for electric, Coal Ash, Yes We need to Get Rid of this Stuff, Maybe send it back to Puerto Rico. with a warning.

You do know that as technology advances costs do go down. They're not in the experimental stages anymore. I'm against subsidizing the f****l f**l industry $400 billion dollars/year. Name one oil company that needs money because they aren't making enough. I'll admit, I am an environmentalist from the word go. On the farm i grew up on, conservation and giving back to every other species was as important as 200 bu/acre corn and 60 bu/acre beans. It is in my heritage and as important as the farms future. We, as the human species, the dominant species have no right to destroy other species at our expense. Take away habitat and pollute our water and what happens. There isn't a place to fish that we remember as kids. Or hunt like we were kids. There isn't any reason for another oil pipeline, another oil well, or another drop coming from the Mideast. If we weren't enriching them, we wouldn't need to be there supporting their dictators and funding their gawd-aweful wars. Maybe then they'd learn to get along with each other. Wind power energy is already cheaper than coal. In fact the coal burners are shutting down at an increasing pace. We do not need to be dependent on something that is destroying our planet, too. There is no Planet B! Next time you see a glacier melting, look at its surface. That grayish color is petroleum created carbon dioxide and soot. Black absorbs more heat energy than snow which reflects. And if you are of the opinion that next year won't have those 7-10" rains. Or won't have another unblemished land like Alaska being sold to the petroleum Industry. If that's what you think, then you better look back at last year. Notice the planet gets warmer, which means heavier rainfall (warmer air creates more carrying capacity of water in clouds and increasing a storm's severity), longer typhoons and hurricane seasons, more sickness, less food production, more poverty, higher seas, more displaced people in low lying coastal waters including half of Florida and Norfolk, Va. Everybody makes their own decision of what we leave for the next generation.

I never said we shouldn't get rid of Coal, But as I said Instead of banning Gas and deisel Vehicles Make gas from Corn, And make Bio diesel. Then there are no f****l f**ls. And We can still implement Filters for the bad stuff coming out of our exhaust pipes. Then we both win, We all win, The planet wins. Farmers get extra money by selling corn for making ethanol, and Fat and meat scraps for Bio diesel, We ain't got to drive electric cars if we don't want to, we can still drive all of the classic cars, You can't tell me that what I have described is not easily possible. seeing as they already have ten percent ethanol. And bio diesel, is easier to make than normal diesel. And with all the technology we have at our disposal we can't make a exhaust filter? If nothing else plant more trees. to decrease the carbon dioxide.

Friend, there's a lot of things we can agree on like, we love to fish and hunt, people who are disabled, widowed and old should get the help they truly need and the able bodied should work for a living. The importing of coal ash is crazy and bad for the country, momma's banana pudding was the best ever and numbers of other things, if we strive for the things we can agree on our world could come much closer together but first we can not turn or heads from t***h, God, country and family.

One thing I can't agree on is Trump needs another 4 years and I can only hope you'll only listen to my reasoning. This country is as divided as I've ever seen it, yes the country has always been divided but we do not need a man leading us who is a great source of that division. We need a leader who can bring us together because we are a country of t***hs. Yes, I do believe we should petition our government to ban coal ash but before it can be banned, coal can't be burned. We are a very smart civilization and other means of power production must be embraced. Our leaders now scoff at solar energy but it is already being used to generate power in small cities all over the country, we know it works but leaders say it's no good. Wind is already suppling power to cities all over the country but some of our leaders say it's not good for a few birds. Natural gas is already powering long hall trucks all over the country but our leader advocates the use of diesel fuels that pollute much much more. Many cars are all ready going electric but our leaders promote gas because it puts money in their pockets. Knowing the machinery you spoke of doesn't use cleaner fuels we still can use these and reduce poisons emitted in other newer vehicles by using our knowledge to use other, cleaner means of t***sportation but our leaders refuse to hear new ideas because it won't make them as much money.

Sir, I feel your pain as a farmer who does help put food on Americas tables, I lived on a 800 acre farm for over 40 years. I lived the stress of using old machinery and working on old equipment after a long days work because I didn't have the extra money to buy new and refused to go in debt to which I saw no end.

While I agree this "Green New Deal" is a pipe dream that would take years to implement. I also realize we must do something or our children will never have what we had, and enjoy the things that we love. It seems the further the right pushes right the further the left the left is pushed somehow we the people must meet in the middle.

while I hear and agree I couldn't afford to replace all of the things I use now I'd suggest we can not afford to try and replace some of our technologies with environmental friendly products and reduce some of environmental footprint.

The t***h has always been a large part of my life, when I was very young my father taught me that a liar and a thief walk in the same shoes. This idea has served me well all my life but these days the t***h is something of which we running very short. T***h matters and our leaders should base most of their decisions on that t***h not the almighty dollar

Threats do not make very good friends, they may get the man threatening some allowances now but threats can cause long term damage. Threats at some point have to be backed up with action and action in the past has cost us fortunes and sons. Fortunes can be won back but sons can not. I know this because I've lost a child and there is no greater pain.

I can only hope what I've written here makes a little sense to the reader, we as a people love our freedom and freedom sometime demands sacrifice but I can only hope that sacrifice isn't payed by our children.

You make sense, And it would be nice, but I think with some effort from both sides we could accomplish it, And I agree more with planting more trees than regulating exhaust, I don't know I'm still young and dumb, Heck to fight the g****l w*****g, Trump is trying to get a giant mirror into space in front of the sun. sounds crazy but look it up.

You are right it can be done and it is being done, but before this can be done to make a difference we have to replace the leader how say it can't. We have to replace the leaders who refuse to admit there is a problem and we have to replace the leaders who will not admit there is a problem because a lobbyist is in his ear. we have to replace the leaders who would sell us out for a bigger bank account.
if I'm t***hful will admit the one building in your video is probably one of the ugliest building I've ever seen but do we want our buildings to be pretty or do we want them distroyed by tornadoes and other inclement weather that we are seeing now.
Ask yourself "when my grand daughter or grand son" comes to me one day and says "grandpa what did you do to help protect our environment" what will your answer be, will you have to answer "nothing". Believe me friend if you live long enough, that day will come.
