New to Forum & Big Bait fishing

Hello All
I’m relatively new to fishing and this forum - all MA freshwater lake bass & pickerel from a Tracker.
Over the last few years, I’ve gone from plastics to jigs and jerkbaits and baitcasters - PB of 5.8lb large mouth and 25 inch pickerel. And I’ve been reading (Murphy, Hannon ...) about big bait fishing and plan to start when our ice goes goes away - though I shouldn’t complain since both of my PBs are thru the ice.
Any big bait or reading suggestions would be welcome & appreciated.
