Has anybody here fished with the underwater green light at night? I've been thinking I might give it a try. Pros cons and or just thoughts in general would be appreciated.

I bought one and tried it in January at the lake of the ozarks.

It did start drawing minnows in, I didn't stay out long enough to fish.

And they were swimming in a circle just like in the advertising.

I have both green & white underwater lights for night fishing. Green is supposed to be somewhat better at drawing baitfish but I haven't really seen a lot of difference. Several things could contribute to the success of either color. Is there a lot of baitfish where you put the lights? Color of the water. Give it a try, if you don't catch anything don't give up do something different. Good luck.

I watched the video. Looks like a UFO Wreck. Seems like glow sticks would do similar if they cost a lot. Use a mirror to direct it too. I read on fishingstage about someone having green on bottom of boat or a green hull and they think it helped attract fish more than other color bottoms they had. My boat is yellow. Maybe it’s why it does good

I have used them quiet a bit for Crappie and Hybrids. They work great, if you have a bridge that funnels water thru a narrow area they are killer. tie up my boat put the light out and just wait. I normally live bait "minnows" fish for crappie and Hybrids all summering the fall.

When I had a house on Galveston bay it was next to a corner in the channel by my dock. I had lights installed at my dock and there were always bait fish swimming around in the light with predictor fish in the shadows! My problem was changing tides and wind direction would changt the depth so much pasting boats kept breaking them and I quit replacing the lights! RJS

A good question, Pickle, I have been wondering about that myself. Thank you!

They work, but it takes several hours to attract fish. They work best on a dock where they can be left on several hours before you fish. The lights attract zoo plankton, which eventually attract minnows and they eventually attract feeding fish. They can be used with an anchored boat if you have time to kill. The process takes 2-4 hours.

Docks with underwater lights attract a lot more fish than those lights that above water level.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm going to pull the trigger one one for night missions on crappie.
