They did a show on the CANDIRU catfish on River Monster. He went to enough doctors there and saw xrays and little fishes in formaldehyde that had been removed from a few living and dead bodies of males from that area that had made it for treatment or autopsy. That was enough proof for me to believe they do exist and won't ever skinny dip in South America or the Amazon reagon.

With the level of manure on this site, we're gonna need a bigger
propeller !

Sorry ! You've obviously got the wrong barrel ! Mine went over Niagara; WHAT A RUSH !
Came back up with two salmon and three trout ! Sure beats 'noodling' for catfish !

I hear that BigA, but that would be one hellofa ride. I might choose noodlin over that ride, I'd have to think about it.

You said it Olddawg, I haven’t lost anything in either region and I don’t want to.

Saw, 27 said rattlesnake venom, which is supposed to be sweet, might be good on pancakes. I volunteered to send him some if he'd get a video of putting it on a pancake & eating it. Hack wants a copy of the video. Old 27 might just sell enough video's to pay for his dr visit. I don't believe it would kill him, that old swabbie is tougher than hobo crap. What other forum, of any kind, has a member who ate a pancake covered in rattlesnake venom? We need to be famous for something besides our intelligence.

IDK if I even want to watch that. Let me know if he survives those pancakes, then maybe.

Jokes and anecdotes, maybe ?
If it's about an experience, (something I actually went
through), then it's probably
99.99% accurate, at least as
best as I can remember it,
with no embellishment given or
intended ! Yes, I tell fish stories like most of the fibbers (fishermen) on here, some
of them humorous (hopefully),
or even outrageous (not unheard of, like the Niagara story) ! Life events, near-death experiences, close calls, etc., are the honest, unvarnished truth, and have actually happened, told as best and as accurately as I can recall them ! With some stories, you
may want to don your waders, while with many others, I could swear on the Bible ! If any questions arise as to which
are which, anyone can PM
me at any time for the full
skinny ! - I promise, NO BS !

As long as there are no open
sores on his lips, in his mouth
or even intestinal problems like
ulcers where the venom can
enter the bloodstream, there
should be no seriously ill effects
from swallowing snake venom !

Some folks with sensitive guts
might get an upset stomach from doing so, but should not have any
life-threatening problems !

Is that what it is? They drive my wife nuts and barely trouble with me unless I'm out by myself. She's healthy as a damn horse and I take 9 pills dutifully every morning.

Consider yourself lucky - I seem
to be some kind of 'bug magnet'
as I can be out fishing with two or three other friends and find myself being swarmed by gnats, black flies
or mosquitoes more than all the others combined ! It's almost like someone rang their dinner bell and
I was their main course ! (Maybe
I DO drink too much soda ?)

Yep, California snakes definitely go in the water. Seen rattlesnakes in the San Gabriel River twice-- once while I was wading/fishing. Kinda weird seeing that head coming downstream toward you.
I also caught a small gopher snake that was swimming in the middle of Lake Pyramid when I was a teen.
