on web site wish.com are their fishing material anygood..looks good though. trks for the input
I haven’t used any of their equipment, don’t know if it’s good or bad.
I have found that the old adage "you get what you pay for" generally applies very well to fishing. Not always. But be very skeptical. Another old adage: if it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is. I have some Shimano reels that I've been fishing with for over 20 years. Not their cheapest reels, but not their most expensive either. They still work as well as the day I bought them. I have a couple of another brand that I won't mention, less expensive than the Shimanos, and they lasted 3 or 4 fishing trips.
Not sure what you mean by “ material “ ?? If it’s graphite your referring to there is differences in quality for sure ! That being said a good friend of mine who I’ve worked for for over 40 years once mentioned the material is not nearly as important as how it’s put together . State of the art manufacturing procedures can outweigh the need for catch phrase named materials that are not correctly assembled !
We are utilizing a governmental material , that’s is gray in color and lighter / stronger graphite we’ve ever used in our 40+ plus years of graphite development !
So cutting EDGE not only refers materials modulus but more importantly how you work this material so design equals performance !
EDGE / Northfork composites is the new Gary Loomis company and our rods are the best we’ve ever produced !
Sold direct only to consumers ! Check out our website if you chose you can order via site !

This thread has me confused. Wish.com????? Seems to have nothing to do with fishing. Then later on the thread morphed into a discussion of edge fishing rods. Can someone please explain this thread to me?
The original poster was enquiring if the fishing stuff offered for sale on wish.com was any good. There is fishing stuff on wish.com. I told him to be skeptical, you often get what you pay for. I believe capt. Lou was making the point that the skill of the craftsman can be more important than the cost of the materials.

Thank you for the clarification. I guess you need to sign up on wish.com to see what they have. I think I'll pass on that. I have enough stuff to last the rest of my life!
I grabbed a telescopic rod and some clip on bells from wish. All worked fine but I also know what I payed which was less than $6.00 for both. When I got the bells(pack of 20) I took them all apart and super glued them back together. Haven't had a problem.
With the rod I checked every inch and learned that the rings which house the guides were all able to slide off so with epoxy I fixed them so they wouldn't move and I instantly changed the reel with an $8 zebco. Works fine. I use it to go on hiking trips it rides on my tackle pack and when we are hiking and come across a pond we will take a break and fish for a bit. This is one from out trip to Big Bend National Park. Caught on a wish rod in the Rio Grande last November.
Well there you go. Thanks Chipper!
That is one ugly shirt. (chargers fan)
Lol so there is a chargers fan out there! I'm glad for them. I cry myself to sleep all season so no worries spirit
thanks to all for the input. going to take a chance on some items.
