A man that knows how to hold a tape measure.

Never hold it on the end because there is play in it.

I am glad to see that you know what 5/8" is. Had a helper some days back and he would have said 2 1/2 big lines from # 12.

I bet cursive writing wasn't his strong suit either.

PB.. I seen guys that can't even use the tapes that are marked in fractions.. I used to get so mad at guys trying to tell me how long to cut things.. I would get fed up and tell them that there is only ONE MARK on that entire tape that lines up with the edge of the board.. Just tell me which F-ing one it is! That usually got some attention!

I can picture that so well Doug like I was there laughing my butt off. Funny in one way but so sad in another.

The crap that's taught in school sometimes / a lot of times, over looks the needed simple things in life.

Kinda like the righty tighty lefty loosey. Oh and don't get me started on which way is clockwise?

I keep thinking back when I was in school, they wanted us all to believe that we would soon need to know nuttin but the Metric System.. Sad thing is that most don't know how to use it either.

Going to be hard teaching us old dogs that new trick. We are smart enough that when the stick is tossed we say you go get it.

How old is the Bimini?
Might start checking with the manufacturer of the Bimini top, if that is unknown, I’d check with the boat manufacturer and see if you can get a name and/or part number...

Depending on how fast you need them, I know there’s a place on route 3 by Lake Ontario. Give me a little while I’ll dig up the name of the place if you would like. they carry all kinds of used and new hard to find boat parts it’s north of Mexico NY.
I can assure you there closed this time of year.

At work I tried to teach the girls how to read a ruler. I had to give up on them. All they could do was measure in 64th of an inch. It might be 3/64 or 195/64. Never could get them to read and say the easy way. When I made a measurement and tried to get them to read it from a scotch or plan, they were confused. They could wind those .002 dia. wires better than I could, so I learned not to complain too much. Some were pretty good at fishing though.
