Then maybe you need to borrow my method and make the calls
so unpleasant for them that
they'll just quit calling out of disgust ! With these vermin,
I get as rude and unpleasant
as I can to discourage call-
backs and it seems to work
well !

The one that I get the most is, "hi I'm Nancy your medicare advocate."
I can't really block her and I've tried.
She uses, unknown caller, real people's names, local area codes, different cities in different states. All of these shows up on the caller ID.

Hi Larry this is Nancy. Thanks I know how to reach you now. Please write me I want to make you such a deal.

LOL Nancy

My brother in law waits and then tries to sell them something. They hang up real quick. I don’t have the patience.

So how do you do your mailbox? Hang it on a chain from the power lines?

Nope, the county came around, dug out our cemented in ones and put a pipe down in the ground, then a smaller pipe with a small pin in it to keep the box pointed in the right direction, put our box on the pipe and it's a done deal. So far I haven't gotten a bill yet but I would imagine that it is coming. They did it all over the county. Some people had some pretty elaborate ones, gone.

That’s a bummer. I’ve built some of those elaborate ones in other states. In Texas they like to make em look like livestock and at graduation time the high schoolers drive around at night and lasso them and yank them out of the ground. Rodeo practice.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the one that they put up looks better than the one that I had up. I made it out of a boat trailer tongue. It had been there for 26 years so it needed updating,

It must be quite a jerk when they get to the end of the rope.

I believe they have it tied to the truck.

Oregon instituted a law 20 years ago, that caused me to have to drill several 3/4" holes, through both sides of my beautiful new redwood 4x6 that I had just installed my new mailbox on.
" Must be able to snap off at the base, if hit" was the reasoning given by a code enforcement officer ,who noticed the new mailbox on his way in... to sign off on the new wiring in the shop ! Got one thing finished...."here's something else to do"....thanks.... not !
And I'm with the others, Oz & Randy.....I DO NOT MISS KANSAS WEATHER, IN THE LEAST !
SW Oregon mountains got anywhere from 40"-80" of snow in the past week at 3000' and above. I live at about 1400'-1500' in the valley..... just rain @ 45 degrees or so. Skiing on 80"+ of fresh on top of the already 60"+ is just 40 minutes away....I can be fishing the Rogue in less than 20 minutes..... gotta love Southwest Oregon. Come visit, it's Steelhead season !!
