New to the forum and want to ask if anyone has any experience with air wave or microwave guides on spinning rods?

Is that the same thing that we call micro guides?

Same principle (I believe, anyway) designed to reduce the line slap after the first guide, to help lengthen casts with smaller baits as well as help with accuracy.

Well, I have those on 2 of my rods and not sure they help with anything. Sometimes it seems that it's HARDER to cast lighter baits with them than my other rods. I know they say that the opposite is suppose to be true but IDK bout that.

I have one on order and will give it a shot to see if I net the same results as soon as the ice melts. Thanks.

Oak Creek
I am new to the forum, but will spread the word as I know a lot of good fishermen who also share tips and info on techniques. I’ve picked up some good info in the last few weeks here and can’t wait to try them out in Spring. I will hold off on the stripper fishing techniques until the timing is right, of course 😉

The MicroWave Line Control System...

The MicroWave Line Control System is the most awarded technology in fishing tackle history with a total of 5 worldwide Best of Show innovation awards. The reason; it is the most effective and efficient line control system ever created. The very purpose of line guides are to capture loose line coming off of a reel and control it during the cast efficiently allowing the rod and angler to perform at their best. Combining science and practical application, the MicroWave Line Control System captures and controls line immediately in the first guide and throughout the cast with total line control. The results are improved rod reaction and better angler performance.

So...I’ve got that going for me...which is nice. Now I just have to live up to the angler performance aspect. 😱

Thanks for digging this up. If the rod with this feature shows up, I’ll have no excuses.

Sounds like the
concept system the Fuji came up with a few years back. It was supposed to lengthen casts and all. I built 3 ro 4 rods that way right to their instruction manual but Didn't see any major improvement in the distance attained. Talked to a salesman of Fuji once who told me the real reason to use it was that it used a lot more guides.
