Most all that activity is on the front range but your friend is right it's messing up a whole lot especially the politics and water issues.
That what he was saying. Not a good thing.

It is following the national trend and yes very sad. I am insulated from a lot of it here because this town is so poor it's largely overlooked.

I google it and it looks like it is on the Mountain top. The county seat, so that is a good thing. Caledonia is the county seat with only 2868 people. Good trout fishing around?

Quite a bit. There are lots of Brook trout in the mountains and the cold water lakes have decent rainbow populations. Plus the stocking program. Not too much if looking for size but great for the frying pan, grill or smoker. Multi species around too. Bass both large and smallmouth, perch, crappie, bluegill, walleye, and northerns and channel cats. Regular smorgasbord
Actually Cortez is the county seat and we are kind of at the foot of the mountains. Just west of Mesa Verde Nat'l. Park.
Woke up to 33* here in Maryland. Heading to my place in the Outer Banks, NC on Tuesday to get ready for summer. It's 42* there
Take your time John, going to be a low in the 20's all week highs not getting out of the 40's. However next weekend temps on the rise.
Today going fishing 60* at 8:30 go figure.

WELL, Nyah,Nyah,Nyah, ! For real though..... Good luck Plumbob, catch a bunch, have a great day, be safe!
Morning, all ! Currently 62°
here in Mesa right now, brightly sunny, with highs expected to reach 76° with a light breeze (8 mph) by mid-afternoon !
Days like this are why I'm here;
back east it's only 38°, with a
wind chill down to about 30° ! Spring and summer are usually warm, winters mild, but we pay
for it in the summer with weeks
of 110° to 115° averages,
including some days
approaching 120° ! Gets pretty toasty, but I always look forward to any fishing foray that'll take
me north to the 'Rim' country or Flagstaff area where
it's usually from 20° to 30°
cooler than the Valley ! Some
nice fishing to be had up there; can't wait to get my butt outta 'Dodge' !
