Holly crap, I guess I’m in. Denial only works for a little while. I have a granddaughter that’s 13. Pretty sure I’d have to be more than 18 to pull that off. I’m happy to be a part of all you fine folks.

Grandkids are the best invention ever! It’s also the best part about growing older.

I believe it's a state of mind rather than an actual chronological age requirement. It's rare, but you can be 16 and be considered an old fart.

I believe that too Spiritof27. I’ll be 75 in June and I only feel like, well I’m 75. I’ve put too much wear and tear on this old body and it finally caught up with me. But, it’s been a hell of a ride.

At 75 (OF) I'm climbing slower, when 8000 feet and more so at 10,000 feet, but I'm still going. My sister said when I turned 50 that I was over the hill. I told her those were just foot hills and I'm still climbing. I'll do it 'til I can't. Hooah!!!!!!!

Keep on doing what you're doing until you can't because once you stop you can't start again

I never really liked the terminology "Old Farts", but this makes me feel better about it. And if you ain't one, I bet ya you know one!

I got this from an "Old Fart" friend of mine!

OLD FART PRIDE
I'm passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it. Actually, it's not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.

1. Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem. Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.

2. Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Normandy, and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam.

3. If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.

4. Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.

5. Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don't like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.

6. Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it's about their children or grandchildren.

7. It's the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country.

This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.

We need them now more than ever.

Thank God for Old Farts!

Pass this on to all the "Old Farts" you know.

I was taught to respect my elders. It's just getting harder to find them.

MadMac, first off, thanks for your service. I met a few Seabees in Quinon, Vietnam. You guys work your tails off. Now about those heart attacks. I’m sure your doing what you’re supposed to do, so just keep on keepin on. From the looks of that beard, you’re well on your way to being an old goat. Welcome to the flock. Baaaaaa!

Hack I came to the same conclusions. I looked at the number of white beards on the avatars and I knew I was home.

I have one at 23, one at 21, one at 18, two at 16, and two at 6. All but the 18 year old likes to fish, but even if none of them liked fishing, they are my pride and joy. I love having grandkids. I love going to all of their events and just being with them.
