Gloves for Cold Weather Fishing?

Hi,

I am new to fly fishing, and wondering what some good options for waterproof gloves in the wintertime would be? A buddy who paddles mentioned these:

https://www.amazon.com/Showers-Pass-Crosspoint-Waterproof-Glove/dp/B07HMFG1Z8/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=waterproof%2Bknit%2Bgloves&qid=1579192187&sr=8-14&th=1&psc=1

I am not looking for miracles here, just something to keep my hands a bit more dry and maybe a bit warmer. Any input is appreciated.

I just got back from a little 2hr session and it’s 11°F without the wind chill. I wear fingerless wool gloves and take a pair of mittens with me. I’ll fish with just the wool gloves for as long as I can and then when I get cold I put the mittens on and do jumping jacks until my fingers come back.

Glacier Glove ICE BAY Fishing Glove;

The Best Ice Fishing Gloves
[Contents]
As an angler, your most important fishing tool is your hands. You do everything with them. When ice fishing, your body’s natural response to the extremely cold conditions is to reduce blood flow to your hands. With reduced circulation, your hands become cold, freeze, lose their functionality, and become susceptible to frostbite. This is why insulated waterproof gloves are a must-have accessory for anyone who loves ice fishing.

But not just any pair of mittens will do. You need the best ice fishing gloves that will keep your hands dry, warm, comfortable, and safe without limiting casting and other angling motions. They shouldn’t be too thick that you’re toasty warm but can’t move your fingers. Here, we make it easy to find the best ice fishing gloves.

We’ve identified and reviewed the top ice fishing mittens that have the essential features for the best performance when angling in freezing conditions. They offer insulation, dexterity, comfort, durability, and more. Read on to find the best pair of cold weather fishing gloves to protect your hands as you do what you love.

Ready to get started? Let’s go.

These are 100% waterproof ice fishing mittens featuring a 2MM neoprene construction with blind stitched and glued seams and a fleece lining on the interior for warmth and comfort. They will keep your hands completely dry and warm. The seamless and textured palm design provides a very good grip. Their thickness provides warmth without sacrificing mobility.

You will still be able to use your hands effectively and even tie knots with them on. The downside to this thickness is that they won't offer sufficient warmth in extremely cold weather. If this might be an issue, it is a good idea to have a backup pair of heavy duty insulated waterproof gloves with you.

I have the Glacier gloves with the thumb and pointer finger openings for surf fishing in cold weather. They keep my hands very warm, and having those fingers available makes handling lures, line, reel a piece of cake.

Once again folks.....read the SPECIFICITY OF THE QUESTION, PLEASE !!!
He is FLY FISHING, not ice fishing, quite different in dexterity needs, to be certain.
I have just about every kind of glove on the market, for every task and season. I have found that fingerless with a mitten pull-over works best for me, but I have yet to find ones that aren't too bulky while actually keeping me dry and warm. I recently bought a pair of gloves from Wish.com that are lightweight neoprene with a zipper back and good "nub grip" palms. Pre-curved fingers & palm, so you don't have a wad in your palm when you close your hand. I have yet to fish in them, but since they came a couple of weeks ago, I have grabbed them several times for tasks from shoveling snow to driving and have the dexterity to get a lighter out of my pocket or change radio station and they have "smartphone fingertips".
Great gloves....$3.84 /pr with shipping... seriously. Had to wait nearly a month before they came. So worth it... I have ordered more pairs for my self and some for friends... have yet to spend $30 total... shipping included.
Might want to check them out....sizing is normal on these, unlike t-shirts etc from Wish, their Asian sizing caused me to give a shirt I had ordered in a "size Large"..... to the 80lb 12 year old next door. Re-ordered an XXXXXLarge this time... LOL !

Last week I purchased a pair of Seirus Heatwave gloves. I will use them for ice fishing and working outside with my tractor. They have very thin to a thicker model. The thinner type are the most expensive but more maneuverable for fishing. They are really nice and comfortable but not cheap (around $55) they are not thinsolate. It is a new type of material and yes they are water proof. I purchased them at Blain's Farm & Fleet. (seirus.com)

I'll be fishing a bass tournament this Sunday. Temp. will be in the 40's. When driving the boat I'll be wearing gloves. When casting I won't. My pockets have GRABBER hand warmers in them. My hands get cold then I warm them, been using hand warmers for years.

Some of the seirus gloves have a zipper pouch on the back of the glove for putting in a hand warmer.
