It bothers and bothers me even more to hear it coming from children!

Yea those munchkins are the product of the millennials. Some women I have found like the chivalry coming to their defense and some look at us men like " get with the times " No wonder men are scratchy their heads.

Good to hear BigA. And yes it is really offensive . Especially comin from the women. I know, I don't want to sound sexist, but to me it is. We never talked like that, every other word it seems, when we were younger. Even in the service. And we cussed plenty.

Please. If you'll notice this post is under the head line of general chit chat, not the main one which is reserved for fishing. It is provided by the admins in their wisdom for us old farts and those of like mind to get together and express views on topics other than fishing. So please don't threaten us with leaving the Fishing Stage. Make it happen.

So true Spirit, way to go!

Hi , Wulffy ! Not trying to be
critical here, or a wet blanket,
but not everone can agree with that statement/outlook ! I know
that you and several others
have been fortunate enough
to find a 'good woman', but not everyone is that lucky ! If your 'other half' turns out NOT to be your soul mate or is NOT that 'good woman', it's better to go
your separate ways than to be constantly fighting and making each other crazy ! If you've
found that so-called 'soul mate', then more power to you ! If not, get out before it has a chance
to turn tragic, as mine nearly
did on several occasions !

Right on BIG A
Got rid of my ex 44+ years ago and my two kids and I went our own way. Found the new Love of my life and on valentines day will celebrate 44 years with her and my two Bio kids and my great two new kids of 44 years. Adopted them so ALL my kids can have the same claim! Love them all and am so LUCKY!

Don't understand women ?
Scratching your head ? - It's no wonder, as I've read somewhere
(some women have even
admitted it) that even WOMEN don't understand women !
They've so much as admitted
that a good part of the time
THEY don't even know what
they want, yet they expect us
poor, simple-minded males to know or understand ? WTF ???
Brings to mind a line from the movie "As Good As It Gets" ;
When the writer, Melvin Udall
(Jack Nicholson) is asked by
a female reporter "How do you write women so well"?, his response is "I think of a man
and take away reason and
accountability" ! Although it's just a line from a movie, it's still the best explanation I've ever heard; I just think he could have thrown logic into the mix as well !

I believe this conversational
thread DID start with fishing, so back at it !
Wv mike; you're a 'catfisher', I believe ? Did you see this report and photo of the new W. Va.
state record 'blue cat' ? It was caught at Point Pleasant on the Ohio River; measured 49.84
inches and tipped the scales at 58.38 pounds ! That 'kitty' looks more like a real 'hog' to me !

I have four offspring, three daughters and a son. Of the four the foulest mouths are difinitely on the girls. My oldest daughter is fifty and she's probably the least offensive of the three. My youngest is 37 and every other word out of that mouth begins with f and ends with k. It's like it's a universal modifier. I constantly remind her that it is a problem. I guess she doesn't see it that way. My son can and will drop an f bomb when the situation calls for it, but for the most part his language is acceptable in polite company if you know what I mean. I tell my wife it's because she uses words during normal conversation that I save for special occasions and extra-special people. But she's my son's mother too.

Reason often involves the utilization of logic. At least it should.

Does hearing the F bomb around women bother you guys?

No matter where one goes it's F this and F that in normal conversations. You would think they were all construction workers. I worked in a so called professional Gov. building where many military members were present. The women were just as trash mouth as the men. Oh that's right its a millennials word.

You are right about “construction workers”, Bob. They are mostly very foul mouthed. An exception would be any of my former employees, and that included sub-contractors. I just didn’t allow it on my jobs around customers. If they didn’t want to comply, they found another job. Only had one guy “quit” for that reason in 39 years , and he only lasted 1/2 a day. One thing I learned was even if a person is used to cussing (and most of them were) , they could actually “hold their tongue “ or keep it under their breath while on the job. Smashed thumbs were occasionally excused. Lol🤬

Guilty myself in those construction days. Then women clean up crews and women spouses hanging around I knew to watch the words. Not today, respect went out the window.

FOUR ? I've always tried to learn from my worst mistakes so's not
to repeat them; ONCE was quite enough, thank you ! I have a younger brother who had been married twice, and was considering a third; his first
was only a few years and the break-up with the second he had three kids; when they split, she made his life a living hell with
the custody and support
issues ! A short while before I moved to Arizona, he told me
that he and his current lady were serious and that he was getting married AGAIN ! Just to 'get his goat', I approached him within inches of his face and started to
examine it closely; when he
asked what the hell I was doing,
I told him I was looking for the scar where the third hook came out ! Fortunately for him, he
finally found a decent mate, and this time it seems to be working out well for him !

For several months after joining this merry band I skipped the chit chat section. Bored one day I checked it out and ever since I look forward to it every day. What better way to start every day than with a smile on your face. I hope you clowns never change. I feel like I could travel anywhere and find a fishing buddy. Sorry John, if your ever in Phoenix look me up. One day on the water with me and you will gain a sense of what fishing is all about. One hint its got little to do with catching fish/

I love this forum. It is the one place I can go and get fishing information and the odd humor. I've been married for over 51 count them, 51 years and she still lets me go fishing, and sometimes goes with me. So like this forum, why would I want to break in a new one. So I guess I better stop.this rant before I piss someone off...
