It would help to be a little more specific. Where are you located?

What is it with you Jersey-ites and fishing for strippers? For Chrissake just go down to the club and pay your dollar and take your chance like anyone else. Seriously Antron I hear that all the STRIPERS have left your area and the season is closed (?) til the spring. If you'll put your location in your profile some of those other stripper fishers will respond to you. You might even get a phone number or two. Who knows?

You’d think the beaches where the former world record striped bass was caught would be a surfcasting destination, but the beachfront from Brigantine to Avalon sees surprisingly little fishing traffic, even at the height of the season.

South Jersey has incredible backwater fishing through its network of bays, creeks and lagoons. The boat fishing in the region is excellent as well. Offshore humps serve as staging areas for migrating stripers and the water exchange at the large inlets form impressive rips where bass stop to feed in the spring and fall. The surf fishing, however, is not quite as impressive.

Top spots for second season stripers are Deep point, Doctor's Point, the Swimming Over, Hog Island, Swan Bay, the mouths of the Wading River, Bass River and Nacote Creek, and the Hay Road stretch to Lower Bank.

As a general rule of thumb, fly fishing for striped bass is most effective early and late in the day, during periods of low light, or when the fish are chasing bait at the surface – all times when the stripers are likely to feed in the upper sections of the water column.
