Just a hello
Been reading posts for a long time and they have been great. I grew up east coast but my years in wy have been on the best trout and walleye fishing ever in Casper wy. The miracle mile and Grey reef I am a fly fisher, spinner and bait cast the Atlantic. You can never stop learning with all the different styles and techniques that everyone offers tight lines, my river is ice bound and UN fishable right now, I would not chance the ice on it or the reservoir above me just not cold enough so far!
Welcome pinkham42. Couple folks on here from up your way.

Welcome to the Forum, Ph42. Ya, ice on the pond will make it hard to fly fish.
Welcome pink. Your the 2nd Wyoming I've seen here. The other is from Rock springs. Please let us know how you are doing out there.
That Flaming Gorge fishing tournament looks like a blast. At least the Ghosts are friendly where your at Pink.
Thank You for the welcomes. I can't let cabin fever get me so I walk the river daily if the weather permits. Spring will come!!!
Welcome pinkham42 to the forum, I am happy to hear that you are pleased with us. Try not to be bashful and add to our fishing information.
Thank You, ill give my two sense when I feel it's appropriate, im basically a trout and walleye type of guy. I specifically fish only lures and flies, my wife is a bait fisher and we always fish together. Im blessed in that area, we both have the fever!
Welcome and glad you have a close fishing partner. Mine comes with me sometimes also. I try for bigger fish and she does the small ones. Yes, she catches more than me, but I use the real small ones she catches for bait way out there. lol
Thank You for the welcome... We are about the same as you and your wife, mine has me beat on walleye, and i have it on trout...but hey a new season is coming...lol
I second the motion on Miracle Mile and Grey Reefs. There are trout in those areas that have four doors and windshield wipers. There are other places on the North Platte River, upstream, that rival these places, but there is nothing better. There is trout fishing near Cody and Thermopolis that are simply wonderful, too.
That would be Boysen in thermop. And Buffalo Bill in Cody, I try to fish them at least every year. I've fished Crystal and Granite out your way alot too. Fish On and tights lines Smoky!
You too, Pinkham. When you were in Cheyenne, were you associated with a volunteer fire department.
There is some great fishing in Wyoming. But the North Platte is as good as it gets.
