Im in Canada and i was going to go ice fishing today but some rain came out of nowhere and now its to dangerously to go fishing. im in north Ontario btw.

I see i was going to got to lake muskoka which had 8-12 inches of ice but the thing that surprises me most is that last year the ice on simcoe was 25 inches! And the next year its only 5 how can the weather change that much in a year?

We had reports of a week of winter so i started to build a ice hut and then the weather went above zero till now

With weather changes like that I would assume that it’s dangerous. Ice over ice isn’t a good situation. Please be extremely careful with ice conditions like this.
Here in lower Michigan no ice yet this yr. Bummer! I've been using my ice gear though, off docks,peirs, walls,and boat with suprising success. Don't give up.
