I plan on using Whopper Ploppers for Muskies on Chautauqua Lake this summer. Caught many over the years but never with a whopper plopper.
A 12” Sucker hooked on a Strike Quick Rig works great when fishing 🎣 in cold 🥶 water 💦.

Muskies are great to catch, but they are not easy to catch. They used to be referred to as the fish of 10,000 casts. I have caught them on whopper ploppers and other surface lures when they are holding close to shore. In deeper waters I use large spinner baits and spoons. Be prepared for a great fight!

I caught several muskies when fishing for walleyes. Some on a silver/green spoon with a single hook and a night crawler hooked right in the middle. Almost looks like a frog. Also several on spinner rigs when trolling for walleyes. A few times a musky grabbed my perch but let go as it got close to the boat.
