That reminds me of a story where a boat was offshore trolling when a thunderhead came up and there was lightening. One dude, sitting near the transom said, if there is any such thing as God, let him stoke me with lightening!”- Guess what? There is and He did! ZAP!

I was in a tournament for striped bass and we were trolling with wire line. When we saw a storm coming we reeled up awful quick.

This is not on a fishing trip. It was the Womens US Open golf tournament in Charleston. The next day the tree was gone. That scared me.

It’s nothing to play with. If it could be harnessed,.....

You guys have got it all wrong. You should always carry a one iron in your rod case. In a storm, stand up and hold the one iron as high as possible. Even God can't hit a one iron.

Never had this happen to me personally, but a family member had a close call; my youngest brother's girlfriend had a
surprise birthday party
for his 50th (he never
suspected, as this was
a month after his actual
birthday) ! My younger
sister and her husband
finally showed up, nearly
an hour late(very
uncharacteristic for them);
she looked okay, but
he was dirt-covered and disheveled, with his hair
practically standing on end !
It seems that his foursome
had just narrowly missed
getting hit while on the course,
and that one of his friends had ended up in emergency due to
the shock of the near-miss !
They had all ended up on their butts, covered with dirt from
the proximity of the strike !
He had gone with his friend
to get checked out as well, because he was concerned
that he might be in shock !
Just a few years prior, my
middle brother's 'ex' lost a
close cousin (also playing
golf); just when he was in the upswing for his tee shot, his
club was hit by lightning ! He was declared DOA on the spot ! Not fishing-related, but still relevant !

Glad you guys made it off the lake without harm.

I've had a few close calls like that myself.

Next time you want to relate an episode like that, PLEASE use paragraphs instead of line after line after line as it makes it very hard to follow.

There will be a grammatical test next Friday. That gives you one week to study and practice.
Good luck.
(I can barely wait).
