Hey everyone! It’s that time again for some new gear! I currently have a Curado DC and a Stradic Fl. Both are equipped with 13 Fishing rods.. I know I know. Anyways my father is a fanatic for Duckett Rods and Im currently interested in St.Croix, G Loomis, and Dobyns.
Anyways some basic info. I fish at Falcon Lake in Zapata Tx. Recently we’ve been fishing at the dam there and it ranges from 11ft and the way down to 40ft~
When I use my casting setup I usually use crank-baits and Texas rigs. When I use my spinning setup I use Ned rigs (still not luck though) and drop shots
Looking to spend about $100-$200~ for each rod. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated brothers and sisters! Good luck fishing out there! Thank you!

Dobyns Fury 734c on the lower end and Sierra 734c on the higer end of your budget. Great do all rods. From St. Croix, I would look at the Premier or the Avid/Avid X series.

If you bottom fish, Try Whisker Seeker. I just picked up a 9'6" Heavy rod and a Penn Battle II 6000. Dams can often hide some hefty cats in the right spot

another vote for the Loomis E6X series and the Avid Series from St. Croix.

Avid or the avid x?

normal avid. it has alconite guides which are better than the aluminum oxide guides found in the Avid X. Also some people hate the microguides which the avid X has also.

Everything You Need To Know Before Buying A New Fishing Rod:
Choosing the proper fishing rod is one of the most important, yet often overlooked, factors in having success out on the water. Being able to place your bait in a precise location, without spooking any fish, can have a huge impact on whether or not you are getting bites. Use the wrong rod and you might not be able to cast as far or accurately as possible. Use the right rod and you can land a cast on a dime and work your bait the way it was intended, which will also produce you more bites, catches, and fun.

I've was told by a guy that, Academy Sports H2O brand rods were made by Gloomis and were the best rod he'd ever used especially for the price. If and when I buy a new one that's the first I'm gonna check out! Tight lines!
Oh, forgot to ask, how do you like the Curado DC, thinking seriously about getting it or the SLX. Really would like the info!
ALX rods. You can actually call and talk to Alex the owner of the company very nice guy and easy to get a hold of. He definitely knows his stuff.
