I have used them both. Have nothing bad to say about either one. I switched to BoatUS. only because SeaTow went up on there prices. Going to a local boat show here BoatUS gives you a new membership or renewal for 450.00 off. Check and see if you got any boat shows coming up near you

Yup, which ever one offers the best discount at the boat show is the one to go with.

Sea Tow vs Boat US in Palm Beach/Jupiter???

Tow boat US. The operator in palm beach is a guy named Chris, he has been fantastic to deal with on two seperate occasions. I stopped by his booth yesterday at the palm beach show to say thanks again for the service.

I am sorry for the misprint. That was suppose to be $50.00 off.

Here in S.C. they will come all the way to the ledge which is about 40 miles or so. I think they will go farther then that but don't want to give you false info. Need to call you franchise. I've used them twice in the water and twice on the road. I have a towing package also.

40 miles??. That’s quite a ways. I would have thought that was Coast Guard territory. Back in the day when I was serving in the C.G. we would bring in our tow to within 3 miles of land and then turn it over to the towing company. Things must have changed.

I assume most boatmen would prefer to never use either!

Little boat with trolling motor not a big need, but big boat run a ground or offshore with one tow bill, you will wish you had insurance! Ouch!

Coast Guard will only come if it is life theatening or there in an emergency on board such as a heart attact. If not they will ask you to call or they will call a tow company.

Ron, there is a soft grounding where your tow package covers you. A major grounding you have to pay for. Its a fine line just like Saturday night and Sunday morning

Well then things Have changed. Back in the 70’s when I was in the C.G., onboard the USCGC, WMEC617, we picked up many tows out at sea. But then again, we were at least a hundred miles out.
For some reason, I really doubt if either seatow or boatus is likely to play that game.

They will come out and get you. But past there range the credit card plays a big roll. You pay for it.
