They stocked a lake close to me today I’ll be there in the morning
I remember the days when I would get in line the day before the electrical power plant in Illinois (Clinton Lake ) would open to the public for fishing. Each Spring we would go threw this routine, sleeping in our trucks with the boat attached. It was always a great time to visit with the group that would do this each Spring. Kind of like a "Tail Gate" party at the football games. I had the opportunity to make new fishing friends and be with old fishing friends. Great memories that have lasted a life time.

I've heard they do about the same thing before Crowley Lake in Cal. opens in the spring. There's so many boats fishin in the same area that you can almost walk across the lake stepin from boat to boat. Just not my kind of fishin. Prefer areas more to myself, not into crowds. Supose the party in the parking lot would be OK, if they had BBQ and beer. Well, at least beer.

Rod in one hand hatchet in the other three or four good drinks of shine and you are ready to fish.
Yeah, 'shine or Jack Daniels , but mostly beer.... the inevitable components that help fuel the insipid desire to "out-fish" "EVERYONE IN SIGHT, BY GOD...." along with the fact that half the blokes are carrying.... won't catch me anywhere near that scenario.... ain't a fish on the planet worth it !
I know what you mean I was fishing a lake last year for trout no doubt when a guy in a boat trolling snagged a guy’s line that was fishing from the bank a few words was exchanged and the guy on the bank threw a rock at the guy in the boat the guy in the boat pulled a gun thank god he didn’t shoot but that’s how fast it can get ugly the place filled with cops I call it now my Wild West fishing spot.

I've had similar experiences myself. I don't fish those places anymore. Another reason I don't like crowds.
