Hi guys! So I am looking for some fishing reel recommendation. I searched all different shops, but I am kind of clueless when it comes to this. I am pretty new to topwater fishing, so this is a really hard choice to make without having the real-life experience. Would be great if you could propose something or at least help me decide what should I focus on?
Thank you.
Well, it really depends on your needs. I definitely wouldn't aim for any cheap ones, but you can get a pretty decent fishing reel for $300-400. One of my top picks is Shimano Saragosa 10000 going usually for a round 400. I urge you to take a look at it.
Right. I am mostly interested in a wharf. I also heard some good things about PENN Spinfisher - people are saying it's the best one you can get under $250. What do you guys think? Has anyone here used it before?
Spinfishers are surely a great pick. As Bandaley said - it all comes down to your budget. If you don't have too much to spend on a fishing reel, get a Spinfisher (or a couple) and enjoy your topwater fishing. On the other hand, if you want to spend a bit more, then Saragosa 10000 is surely a great choice. For those with a very small budget though I would also recommend Coronado CD 90. It's not as good as any of those mentioned here, but it's ultra cheap and gets things done. For a beginner in topwater fishing I consider it a real good pick.
Great guys! Thanks. I'm not really on budget that much, but I don't like spending too much either. I will opt for Spinfisher and will try to get the Coronado as well. I heard it can handle a large line pretty well.
Cheers.
Hard to go wrong with the Penn
