Bass fishing in Northeast Oklahoma

After Texas rig fishing a stumpy lake in Texas in 1977-1978 we moved to NE OK in 1979. Career, kids, and golf had me busy until 2017 when I came back to bass fishing. I now have a little 2 man boat and try to find a buddy to fish with. I stay close to shore in large lakes or bank fish ponds and reservoirs. My PB was a largemouth bass from a pond that was between 6 and 7 lbs on a wacky rig. Techniques have changed a lot since 1978 so this old man is learning again. I live within 2 miles of BassPro.

Grand Lake Bass Fishing For Bass🎣🐠

Grand Lake’s reputation as one of the best Bass fishing lakes in the United States was solidified when the May 2013 issue of Bassmaster Magazine ranked Oklahoma’s Grand Lake as the 15th best Bass fishing lake in the country.
It’s not just Largemouth Bass… Grand Lake also has healthy populations of White Bass (Smallmouth), Spotted Bass and the awesome to catch Hybrid Stripers which have been stocked in the lake since 1982.
Bass aren’t the only fish that call Grand Lake home.

Thanks. I fish it occasionally, but my little boat doesn’t take me far.

Welcome 75 to this humble forum. There is some fantastic fishing in northeast & southeast oklahoma. From your home in Broken Arrow you're less than an hour from more lakes & rivers than a man can fish in many summers. My fishing buddy of 35 plus years also lives in BA but a few miles east of you. Right now my outdoor activities are on hold. I had a complete knee replacement thanksgiving but I'm healing up nicely. We go to lake fork, tx for crappie every year in march & I'll be ready for that trip. Get out in this nice weather we're having & put some fish on the table. Good luck & tight lines.

Thanks for the nice welcome. At 75 I am too chicken for the knee recovery. I might get it if everything else was working fine. My hats off to you on that surgery and for a painless recovery. Happy new year..

Sorry so late in replying. I have not caught a lot, but a few medium size 2-3 lbs. I may go out after it warms up a bit today, but am feeling lazy so may just bank fish. Have a great Saturday.
