Today at the dock I caught a decent flounder. This is what happened to it.

Hey BFL, where are you located? Please up date your profile with your location. What is the size limit for flounder there? I caught one here last week but it was only about 14". So released him. They are a good eatin fish though. Nice work.

Not a bad catch except we can only look at a distance here in NC. Put a ban on them here at the end of summer. Sure looks good though.

I've never caught one. Caught a (very) few halibut, but never one of those. I've eaten them and they're delicious. Uh huh. So yeah, where'd you catch it? Besides right in the lip.

My personal opinion here, and not to insult you, but I've found that catching flounder is much like hooking a wet towel. They are great eating, but not much in the way of a fighter. Give me a redfish anytime, or a spotted trout (weakfish). I prefer any fish that jumps, and tarpon are tops on my list!

I barely even noticed it was on my line. I thought I had got twisted with someones line and was reeling it in. But, they taste great.

Wow, the 14 incher I caught put up a nice fight. Thought it was a keeper striper, and they haft to be 18" to keep out here.

Sweet one of our favorite inshore fish to eat! Mild white flaky seafood that does not have a fishy taste at all!

Try catching one on a bream buster. You'll think you have a 3 lb bass on the line,

They are talking about severely cutting limits or banning here in Texas too..and Texans are MAD!
A few years back, redfish (red-drum) were thinning out, so they cut limits and put a slot size on them.
But more importantly, they bred and released thousands, and are still doing it.
Now we are over-run with aggressive redfish that eat anything that moves, including flounder.
Why wouldn't they breed and release flounder?

Fort Bragg CA. Thanksgiving 2019 ..150 ft deep off mckerrier. It was delicious. I've been limiting all year around here. This day we got crab and fish limits for 3 people. Great year! Can't wait for 2020.
